What's Included

The Process

1

Free Quote and Vehicle Assessment

Cortez reviews your vehicle, paint condition and what you want out of the coating. You get a clear scope of work before anything is booked in.

2

Full Decontamination Wash

The vehicle gets a thorough wash, iron fallout treatment and clay bar to remove everything sitting on top of the paint. The surface needs to be completely clean before any polishing or coating goes near it.

3

Paint Correction (Where Needed)

Any swirl marks, light scratches or oxidation are polished out at this stage. Ceramic coating locks in whatever is underneath it, so the paint needs to be right before the coating goes on.

4

Surface Preparation

Every panel is wiped down with an IPA solution to remove polish oils and any remaining residue. This is the step most people skip, and it is why coatings fail early.

5

Ceramic Coating Application

The coating is applied panel by panel in a methodical sequence, then levelled and allowed to flash before being inspected under lighting. No shortcuts, no rushing.

6

Curing and Final Inspection

The coating is checked across every panel before the vehicle is handed back. Cortez walks you through aftercare so you know exactly what to do in the first week.

Is This Right For You?

This service suits anyone who wants to protect a new vehicle straight off the lot, or bring an older ute or SUV back to a finish worth maintaining. If you are tired of waxing every few months and want something that actually holds up to the Tauranga climate, including sea spray from Mount Maunganui and the UV exposure that comes with Bay of Plenty summers, ceramic coating is the practical solution.

Common Questions About Ceramic Coating

That depends on the coating tier applied and how the vehicle is maintained afterwards. A properly applied professional coating, looked after with the right wash technique, will hold up significantly longer than any wax or sealant. Cortez will walk you through exactly what to expect based on your specific vehicle and how you use it.
If your paint has swirl marks, light scratches or any oxidation, yes. Ceramic coating does not hide those, it seals them in permanently. Cortez inspects the paint during the quote stage and will tell you honestly whether correction is needed before the coating goes on.
The application itself needs a controlled environment, out of direct sunlight and wind, to get a clean result. Cortez works with a suitable setup to make sure conditions are right. This is something he will confirm with you when the job is booked.
For the first week, the vehicle should stay dry and not be washed. After that, the main thing is using a pH-neutral shampoo and avoiding automatic brushed car washes, which will scratch the coating over time. Cortez gives you a full aftercare rundown when he hands the vehicle back.
Wax sits on top of the paint and breaks down within weeks, especially in the New Zealand sun. Ceramic coating bonds to the clear coat and provides a much harder, longer-lasting layer of protection against UV, bird droppings, road grime and salt air. If you are regularly waxing your vehicle and want to stop, it is worth a conversation with Cortez about whether coating makes sense for your situation.
