What's Included

The Process

1

Wash and Decontamination

We start with a full contact wash, then treat the paint with a pH-neutral iron remover and clay bar. This clears the surface so we're only polishing paint, not grinding dirt into it.

2

Paint Assessment

We use a paint depth gauge to measure the clear coat at multiple points across the vehicle. This tells us exactly how much correction is safe and what level of cut is needed.

3

Machine Polishing

Using a dual-action or rotary polisher with the right combination of pad and compound, we work panel by panel to cut back defects and restore clarity. More severe damage gets a heavier cut first, followed by a finer finishing pass.

4

Spot Correction

Any stubborn scratches, heavy water etching, or isolated oxidation get targeted by hand or with a smaller backing plate to make sure every section is consistent.

5

Panel Wipe and Inspection

We remove all polish oils with a panel wipe solution, then check every panel under LED lighting at multiple angles. If a section isn't right, we go back over it.

6

Protection Application

Once the paint is corrected, we apply a finishing sealant or wax to lock in the gloss and give the surface short-term protection. For longer-lasting results, we recommend following up with a ceramic coating.

Is This Right For You?

Paint correction is the right call if your vehicle has visible swirl marks, fine scratches, water spots, or paint that looks dull and flat despite being regularly washed. It suits utes and SUVs that have done a few years on the road, as well as sedans being prepped for a ceramic coating or a private sale.

Common Questions About Paint Correction

Swirl marks are fine circular scratches in the clear coat, usually caused by automatic car washes, dirty wash mitts, or wiping the paint dry with a towel. Yes, they can be removed. Machine polishing cuts back the top layer of clear coat to level out the scratches and restore a uniform, glossy surface.
A single-stage correction on a standard sedan or SUV usually takes between four and seven hours. Larger vehicles like dual-cab utes or heavily neglected paint can take longer. We'll give you a clear time estimate when we assess your vehicle.
Paint correction removes scratches that sit within the clear coat layer. If a scratch has cut through the clear coat into the base coat or primer, polishing alone won't fix it and a touch-up or respray may be needed. We'll tell you exactly what's fixable before we start any work.
We apply a sealant or wax after every correction to protect the surface, but these products only last a few months. If you want lasting protection, a ceramic coating applied straight after correction is the best option. We offer ceramic coating as a follow-on service.
For swirl marks and light surface scratches on panels, yes. Heavy scuff marks, stone chips, or deep gouges on tray sides usually require touch-up paint rather than polishing. We'll separate what can be corrected from what needs a different fix during the initial assessment.
